On-Site Interpreting Services in the Carolinas

On-site interpreting is when an interpreter is dispatched to a physical location to interpret face-to-face for a client and an LEP (limited English proficient) or Deaf/Hard of Hearing individual or group. Typical scenarios requiring On-site interpreting services include:

  • Arrest processing
  • Crime scene investigations and victim interviews
  • Depositions
  • Employee meetings and orientation
  • Home visits for Social Services or Hospice
  • Medical appointments
  • Parent/Teacher conferences at school


On-site interpreting is often more appropriate than telephone interpreting when appointments will likely last more than a few minutes, when appointments are planned in advance, and when communication may require extra human interaction and visual contact.
